President, Chief Advisor pay homage at Tungipara

President Iajuddin Ahmed and Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed yesterday (August 15) paid homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on his 33rd death anniversary.
The president and the chief adviser placed wreaths separately at the grave of Bangabandhu at Tungipara in Gopalganj. They stood in solemn silence for a few minutes when army bugles played the last post, paying tribute to the father of the nation.

National mourning day

The nation mourns the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman today as the government has arranged observance of the National Mourning Day at state level this time.
In 1975, a group of disgruntled army officers killed Bangabandhu along with most members of his family in the early hours of August 15 at his Dhanmondi residence.
