A group of operatives of the dreaded Islamic outfit Jagrata Muslim Janata Bangladesh, widely known as Bangla Bhai group, abducted Yasin from his cousin's house in the locality at around 8:00pm, took him to Kudapara Ahadia Dakhil Madrasa and beat him to dead.

Around 6-30 am. a group of terrorists belonging to Jagrata Muslim Janata Bangladesh, caught Afzal Hossain, cousin of Awami League leader Israfil Hossain from his sister’s house in Banshbaria village and beat him severely after taking him to Jhina village.

Attack/Description:

Awami League of Derai organized a rally demanding relief for the flood-affected people of the district. A powerful bomb went off which seriously injured 26 including district AL Vice-president Nurul Islam Sarder and Derai AL President Aftabuddin. Abdul Wahid of Matargaon village succumbed to his wounds minutes after he was brought to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital at 8:05pm. AL lawmaker and presidium member Suranjit Sengupta narrowly escaped injuries, as the bomb exploded just after he left the dais delivering his speech at 4:45.

Attack/Description:

A group of armed miscreants attacked Sumon and this elder brother while they were sitting in their medicine shop at Rakudia Natun Hat area of Babuganj at about 8 PM. The attackers made elder brother Shahid as hostage under arms and opened fire on Sumon in front of him. When Sumon fell down by gunshot, then the killers brutally chopped him and left the place after confirming his death.

Attack/Description:

Gunmen shot Helal Uddin Helal at Free School Street, Kathal Bagan when he was returning home in the area after supervising work at a site at around 2:30 pm. The assailants sprayed bullets on him from a point blank range and left the place on foot as none dared to chase them, witnesses said. Mr. Helal was rushed to the emergency of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries at around 4-30 pm.
