and Exporters Association (BGMEA) office in the early hours
of yesterday to foil the elections to the country’s largest
trade body. Voters who turned up in hundreds at the capital’s
BGMEA office early morning came under attack by some people
led by Zainal Abedin Faruk, a ruling BNP lawmaker and leader
of the Oikya Jote. The BGMEA election fell prey to the government’s
power play after some incumbent and former BNP lawmakers formed
the Oikya Jote and mustered the government’s supports. |
