A specialized hospital and nursing college named after Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib was opened here today, offering a comprehensive range of medical services under a joint venture with a Malaysian hospital chain. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and visiting Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak jointly unveiled the plaque of the Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Memorial KPJ Specialized Hospital and Nursing College, a complex of 250-bed hospital and 50-bed nursing college.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Trust and Social Welfare Ministry constructed the hospital and nursing college on six acres of landunder Public Private Partnership (PPP) programme at a cost of Taka 215 crore.

Prime MinisterSheikh Hasina returned home tonight from Colombo after wrapping up her two-day official visit to Sri Lanka to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM)-2013.
The three-day CHOGM began at the Nelum Pokuna (Lotus Pond) Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre in the Sri Lankan capital this morning.
A special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11.45 pm tonight.
Ministers, advisers to the Prime Minister, parliament members, the chiefs of three services and high civil and military officials were present at the airport to receive Sheikh Hasina.
The Prime Minister attended the opening ceremony and official photo session of the CHOGM and addressed its executive sessions.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Sheikh Hasina held bilateral meetings with Sri Lankan President Mahindra Rajapaksa and New Zealand Prime Minister John Key.
Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Ambassador-At-large M Ziauddin, PM's Principal Secretary Shaikh Md Wahid-Uz-Zaman, Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque and Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad, among others, accompanied Sheikh Hasina during her visit.
