Bangladesh Awami League has decided to hold the conference of the time-expired district units.
The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of Awami League (AL) joint general secretaries and organising secretaries held at the political office of party president Sheikh Hasina at Dhanmondi in the city today.
Decision was taken at the meeting that conferences of those district units, where conference could not be held, would be organised within October 30, according to a press release of AL.
Beside, decision was adopted to hold the conferences of Khulna, Rajshahi City, Patuakhali, Barguna, Kishoreganj and Thakurgaon district units of the party within July 15 in the first phase. Dates of conferences of the remaining AL organisational district units would be finalised, the press release added.
AL general secretary and LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam chaired the meeting, also attended by joint general secretaries Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif, Dr Dipu Moni and Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak and organising secretaries Ahmed Hossain, Advocate Misbah Uddin Siraj, BM Mozammel Huq, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Bir Bahadur, Abu Sayeed Al Mamun Swapan and Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury.
