Today (Monday) is second death anniversary of Abdur Razzak, the national hero and one of the top organisers of the War of Liberation in 1971.
Abdur Razzak died at King’s College Hospital of London on December 23, 2011 at 69 years old. He was suffering with kidney disease.
Marking the day, elaborated programme has been chalked out including milad mahjfil and placing wraths at his grave in the city`s Banani graveyard in the morning.
Nahim Razzak, elder son of the hero, said discussion meeting on deceased’s colurful political life and work will be held at Dhaka University TSC at 3:00pm on Friday.
Dr Abdul Mannan will be chaired, while Bangladesh Awami League presidium members and his close political colleagues Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, Amir Hossain Amu, Tofail Ahmed, Syed Ashraful Islam and Suranjit Sengupta, and Rashed Khan Menon, Hasanul Haque Inu and Mujahidul Islam Selim and other national leaders are expected to address in the discussion.
Abdur Razzak was born on Aug 1, 1941 at village South Damuda under Damuda upazila of Shariatpur district. after passing SSC, Razzak get admitted in Dhaka College in 1960 while started his political career and played significant role as East Pakistan Chhatra League’s central committee member.
In 1996 he was the minister of the ministry of Water Resources of Bangladesh Goverment.
