Dhaka City Awami League joint secretary and Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam today termed the BNP-Jamaat combine as enemies, not opponents and said dialogue can't be held with the enemy party.
"The BNP-Jamaat combine is the enemy party to Awami League like that of Pakistani occupation forces during the days of the War of liberation," he said while speaking at the triennial conference of Kotwali-Bangshal Thana unit Awami League at Bir Sreshthra Motiur Rahman High School ground on Aga Sadek Road in the old city.
Kotwali Thana AL president Fazlur Rahman Parbat chaired the inaugural session of the conference, also addressed, among others, by Dhaka City AL general secretary and Relief and Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya (Bir Bikram), former lawmaker Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, Dhaka City AL leaders Sayeed Khokon, Shahe Alam Murad and Abdul Huq Sabuj. Acting president of Dhaka City AL MA Aziz gave the introductory addressed at the session.
Advocate Quamrul alleged that the BNP-Jamaat combine has been trying to mislead the new generation by distorting history resorting to 'information-terrorism' but leaders and workers of Awami League will resist their conspiracy .
Terming the recent remarks of BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman as 'political Satanism', Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya said united resistance would be build against the BNP-Jamaat's evil design. "They (BNP-Jamaat) have no right to live in the country," the AL leader added.
