Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today released five commemorative postage stamps, two first day covers, two data cards and a souvenir marking the 46th Victory Day today.

 

The government is trying its best to bring back fugitive war criminals Ashrafuzzaman Khan and Chowdhury Mueen Uddin, who have been convicted formass murder of intellectuals in 1971.

 

Now it is time to try those who had sided with and rehabilitated the war criminals, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has declared.

 

The nation observed the Martyred Intellectuals Day paying rich tributes to the intellectuals who were killed by the Pakistani occupation army and their local collaborators close to the end of the Liberation War in 1971.

Reaffirming her determination to stamp out militancy and terrorism, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called again to identify their cause and source of money to defeat these social vices.

 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has reaffirmed Bangladesh's unequivocal support for the rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination and independence.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called upon the international community to work together for lifting the migrants from misery and ensuring their dignity.

"As Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) moves to the global consultative process in 2017, we must pledge and act to lift the migrants from misery and agony," she said while inaugurating the Ninth GFMD Summit at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre here this morning.
