The weeklong event brought the state coffer a record Tk 1,675 crore, a 50percent jump from the receipts at the show last year.
This year, the event took place in seven divisional cities till September 22 and 57 districts for four days from September 16 to September 22.
As many as 1,49309 persons submitted their tax return while 15,907 persons registered for eTIN and 10838 persons signed up for the getting eTIN, replacing their earlier one.
During the Awami League government’s second term to the office, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) launched the event in 2010, with an aim to offer taxpayers the scope to get Taxpayer’s Identification Number online, assistance from the taxmen to fill up tax returns, submit returns, and pay taxes on the spot without having to visit the tax offices.
