Survey Shows Majority Of Bangladeshis Hope For A Better Economic Future

A significant majority of the respondents describe Bangladesh a better place than many other countries to ensure better future for their children, stated the survey conducted between March 17 and June 5 this year, involving 48,643 respondents in 44 countries. In Bangladesh, the organization took face-to-face interviews of 1,000 adults between April 14 and May 11.

Although people of Bangladesh presented this rosy picture of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s economic management, the survey held a pessimist view of economic recovery in most of the developed countries including Britain, USA and France.

Overwhelming optimism for next generation
A majority of 71 percent of the respondents think Bangladesh’s economic prospects are better than they have been in any time since the country’s independence, suggesting the Awami League government’s policy efforts to promote growth gained success.

The Awami League government has made significant strides which led the country to enjoy a growth rate of around six percent for over the last six years.

Stay in Bangladesh
Most Bangladeshis also feel that their children would have a better life if they remained in the country.

The report found that a staggering 71 percent of respondents recommend staying in Bangladesh to young people who want a good life while twenty-six percent said the opposite.

A month back, the research center released a survey showing 71 percent of Bangladeshis are happy with the economic health of the country while 66 percent expects the economic situation to further improve over the course of next 12 months.
