Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina described the incident of August 15, 1975 as a 'black chapter of the nation's history' and claimed that 'BNP founder Ziaur Rahman was involved in the killing of thousands of soldiers in as many as 19 military coups and counter-coups since he took over the state power.' Sheikh Hasina said, the August 15 massacre overshadowed the glorious history of Bengali nation.
Hasina termed Jamaat-BNP as anti-liberation alliance and said, they in collusion with Hefazat-e-Islami attempted to create anarchy in the country by damaging public property and burning the holy Quran.
