PM urges Iranian entrepreneurs to invest in infrastructure, energy sectors

The Prime Minister made the request when outgoing Iranian Ambassador to Bangladesh Hossein Aminian Tousi called on her at her office here this morning.

After the meeting, PM\'s Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad briefed reporters.

He said the Prime Minister also requested the Iranian government to import ceramic, pharmaceutical, garment, frozen fish and jute goods from Bangladesh in larger volume.

Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh and Iran have strong ties based on shared history, faith and culture and hoped that these relations would be strengthened in the years to come.

The Prime Minister conveyed her warm greetings to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and President Hasan Rouhani through the ambassador.

Aminian Tousi handed over a letter of the Iranian President to Sheikh Hasina in which he (President) greeted the Prime Minister on her assumption of office the Prime Minister for second consecutive term.

The ambassador thanked Sheikh Hasina for her government\'s sincere cooperation during his stay in Bangladesh.

Ambassador-At-Large M Ziauddin, PM\'s Principal Secretary Shaikh Md Wahid Uz Zaman and Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad were present on the occasion, among others.
