Government to expand the 'One House One Farm' project: PM at Sangsad Bhaban

The Prime Minister said this in reply to a question from independent member Hazi M Selim during PM's weekly question- answer session in the parliament today.

Sheikh Hasina said Palli Sanchoy Bank will encourage rural people for savings. Every account holder of the bank will get Taka 100 from the government for their savings of Taka 100, she said.

The Prime Minister said, a total of 25 lakh poor families would be benefited from the 'One House One Farm'project which will lead to poverty alleviation of around 1.20 crore people.

She said, the success of the 'One House One Farm' is hundred percent. Around 10.38 lakh poor families now have created a fund of Taka 1,344 crore. One third of the fund was created by the beneficiaries through their savings while two-thirds was provided by the government.

Sheikh Hasina said average annual income of every family under the project has been increased by over Taka 10,000 and poor families in every village now have their own fund of Taka 9 to 10 lakh.

The Prime Minister said Palli Sanchoy Bank will give the poor people relief from usurers and improve their agriculture based living condition.
