PM pays homage to Bangabandhu on Independence Day

Sheikh Hasina first laid a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu as the Prime Minister. After placing the wreath, she stood in solemn silence for sometime as a mark of respect to the memory of Bangabandhu, the architect of the independence.

Flanked by central leaders of the party, Sheikh Hasina, also the president of Bangladesh Awami League, laid another wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu on behalf of her party.

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury, Post and Telecommunication Minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui, LGRD and Cooperative Minister Syed Ashraful Islam, Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan, Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Food Minister Advocate Qamrul Islam, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam and State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak were present, among others.

Besides, Awami League Advisory Council Member Suranjit Sengupta, Presidium Member Advocate Sahara Khatun, Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif and other central leaders of the party were present.

The leaders and workers of Awami League's associate bodies, including Dhaka city Awami League, Awami Jubo League, Chhatra League, Mahila Awami League, Sramik League, Krishak League, Jubo Mohila League and Swechchasebok League, as well as other socio-cultural organizations also paid homage to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths at his portrait on the occasion.
