Laying importance on keeping the pro-liberation force in the state power, she said, the country progressed only when Awami League was in power.

Food production has increased, people have got health service at the door step, power generation augmented and investment has got a boost after Awami League assumed office in 1996 and 2009.

Pointing out the development programmes initiated by her government, the Prime Minister said, Awami League government has put in place an economic system so that people can earn on their own to maintain their lives.

In this regard she mentioned about 'One Home-One Farm Project', community healthcare centre and allowance for elderly people, widows, disable persons and poor.

"We want a prosperous nation and this country, born through shedding bloods of millions of martyrs. The blood of martyrs can never go in vein, and we will not allow it," she said.

About the introduction of steamer service from Dhaka to Mohanpur, the Prime Minister said, once there was steamer service from Mohanpur. But, unfortunately the service remained abandoned over the years.

"We have arrived Mohanpur first today by the first ever country made vessel to reintroduce the service," she said amidst claps of thousands of people across the river bank.

The Prime Minister said, people of Chandpur played a very glorious role in the war of liberation. "They were always with Awami League in movement for democracy and establish people's rights," she said.

Urging people to remain united to reach the benefit of independence to every house, the Prime Minister said, Father of the Nation dreamt for bringing smile in the faces of toiling masses.

"We are following the footprint of Bangabandhu and running the country with this vision," she said.

Sheikh Hasina said, her government is implementing various projects to protect people of every region from river erosion and connect them with a developed communication system. "The government has undertaken Ashrayan project to provide houses to homeless people," she said.

The Prime Minister said, "We want to make the independence fruitful. We will certainly bring smile in the face of millions. Our people will no more remain poor. All of them would avail healthcare service and live in peace and prosperity."

"Inshallah, Bangladesh would be able to make its own position amidst world comity," she hoped.
