Prime Minister’s initiatives and assistance


On the first phase of the compensation to the victims of Rana Plaza collapse on 24th April, 2013, government donated 200,000 tk each to 100 victims.
Prime Minister’s relief fund has already donated 22.11 Crore taka to the relatives of 909 deceased victims.
Government and Ministry of Labor has created a fund of 15 Million $ to support the victims in different situations.


Government convened ILO’s initiative

International Labor Organization has initiated to create a fund of 136 Crore Taka for the victims of Rana Plaza incident. 17 Million $ has already been donated to the fund by several organizations.

Strengthening Legal Structure

Government has increased the wages of the garment workers by 226 percent. To ensure the safety of the workers, National Policy, 2013 has been implemented. Revised Labor Law, 2013 has been implemented too. Besides several task forces have been formed to review these laws and acts.
