PM Hosts Iftar With Leaders Of Various Professional Organizations

Those who attended the iftar party included vice-chancellors and teachers of different public and private universities, journalists, cultural personalities, physicians, engineers, lawyers, businessmen, and sports personalities.

The Prime Minister went around different tables set for the guests, exchanged pleasantries and enquired about their well- being.

Before the iftar, special munajat (prayer) was offered seeking continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation.

Prayers were also offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other victims of August 15 massacre, martyrs of War of Liberation and heroes of the democratic movements.

Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Moulana M Salauddin Ahmed conducted the munajat.

Besides, Managing Director and Chief Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Abul Kalam Azad, Editor-in-Chief of UNB Enayetullah Khan, Bangla Academy Director General Shamsuzzaman Khan, DUJ President Altaf Mahmud, General Secretary Quddus Afrad, BMA Secretary General Iqbal Arsanal, eminent journalist Shafiqur Rahman, eminent lawyer Abdul Baset Majumder, poet Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Prof Dr Abdul Mannan Chowdhury, former Chittagong University VC Prof Abdul Mannan, DRU President Shahed Chowdhury, and Sammilita Sangskritik Jote President Nasir Uddin Yousuf Bachchu joined the iftar, among others.

Players and officials of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, which became champions in the Bangladesh Premier League, also joined the iftar. The Prime Minister talked to the players and officials of the club and congratulated them on becoming champion in the Premier League football.
