PM Asks Full Effort From Everyone To Salvage Pinak-6

The vessel capsized at Lauhajong channel of the Padma this morning with about 250 passengers on its way from Kewrakandi of Madaripur district to Mawa Ghat.

Sheikh Hasina asked Bangladesh Army, Navy, RAB, Coast Guard, Fire Brigade and BIWTA for immediate action to this end, PM's special assistant Mahbubul Haque Shakil said.

The Prime Minister also asked the local administration to take all necessary steps to facilitate smooth rescue operation, he said.

The special assistant said the Prime Minister is taking continuous reports of the salvage operation and sent Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan to the spot.

Salvage ship Rustam has already been sent for taking part in the rescue operation, he said adding the rescue drive is being conducted with highest priority.
