As of filling the report at 2:30 p.m., nine Sub Machine Guns (SMG), one Beta Gun, one 7.62 bore auto rifle, six Self Loading Rifles (SLR), two Light Machine Guns (LMG), one Sniper Telescope Sight and 2,400 rounds of ammunition were among the cache being recovered.

This raid appeared to be the third one, conducted by the crime busting force, in a span of three months in the Satchharhi forest, which is 3 kilometer away from the Indian state Tripura.

Investigators had reportedly said they found links of militant National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and separatists United Liberation Front of Asom (Ulfa) into the incidents.

In the past, Indian separatist groups, including National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF), used the bordering forest area for shelter and as a training camp, reported several national media quoting sources in the law enforcement agencies.

After assuming to power in 2008, the Awami League government announced to proactively engage with all international efforts to counter terrorism and extremism nationally and globally.

The government promised “zero tolerance” on any kind operational activities by any insurgent groups including Indian separatist group inside the territory of Bangladesh to fight terrorism together.

Other two arms recovery in June this year from the forest were considered as biggest inside the country since the 10 trucks arms seizure in 2004.

Earlier, on June 3, Rab recovered 184 rocket shells (40mm) and 153 chargers abandoned in one bunker at the hillock of the reserve forest, while the June 9 seizure includes 633 rounds of 7.62 mm bullets, 54 rounds of 12.54 mm bullets, 37-inch long barrel of a machinegun from the forest.
