Indian Minister For Health Highly Praised Bangladesh’s Achievement In Health Sector

"Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh witnessed stunning success in the health sector over the last five years," he said.

"These successes, especially in rural health through community clinics, could be utilized for development of Indian health sector," he said.

The Indian Health Minister made the remarks when he paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Jatiya Sangsad Office here Yesterday evening.

PM's Press Secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhury briefed reporters after the meeting.

He said the Prime Minister mentioned that the Ayurvedic and Homeopathic medical treatment of India is very much effective, and effective cooperation could be made between the two countries to this end.

Extending the best regards of the Indian Prime Minister to his Bangladesh counterpart, Dr Harsh Vardhan said that India has emotional relationship with Bangladesh while this relationship is based on historical and cultural bondage.

Recalling the support and assistance of the Indian government and its people during the Bangladesh's War of Liberation, Sheikh Hasina said that after the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, she had got mental support and strength in that hard time from the then Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Terming poverty as the common enemy in this region, the Prime Minister said that the problems in this region like poverty are the same in this region and these could be addressed through regional cooperation."For this we'll have to work unitedly,"
