The survey found a staggering 71 percent of the respondents polled were satisfied with the economic health of the country. A significant majority, 66 percent said they expect the economic situation in Bangladesh would improve over the next 12 months. Nearly 55 percent of the respondents expressed satisfaction with the economic initiatives so far initiated by the AL government in first six months of its third term to office.

The Washington-based respected research organisation Pew Research Center conducted face-to-face interviews among 1,000 Bangladeshis, all above 18 years of age, from April 14 to May 11 this year. The poll was conducted in Bengali, said the Center in its website.
