"Some 28,619 insolvent people received Taka 198.98 as financial assistance from January 2009 to September 4, 2014," she told the house while replying to a question of Jatiya Party lawmaker Peer Fazlur Rahman.
The Prime Minister said the Prime Minister's Office would take decision soon to publish the list of the financial receivers.
She said the government gave Taka 2.60 crore as financial assistance to 427 ailing, insolvent, injured and deceased journalists, who injured and deceased in road accidents after formulation of the Journalist Assistance Allowance/Grant Policy, 2012 by the Information Ministry.
Hasina said the government also formed Journalist Welfare Trust and provided seed money, adding, "Journalists would also receive grant from the trust in the future."
Besides, assistance has always been provided from the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund.
