Energy Adviser to the Prime Minister Toufiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury and State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak, among others, were present on the occasion.
Convenor of the Young Bangla Nahim Razzak, MP and Executive Director of Centre for Research and Information (CRI) Sabbir Shams highlighted the future plan of the Young Bangla.
The key focus of Young Bangla platform is to integrate the youths from different parts of Bangladesh and involve them into the national development process: Vision 2021. Young Bangla also focuses on promoting achievements of Bangladeshi youths and facilitates potential achievements to start and expand by creating a bridge.
Young Bangla program has been designed to facilitate activities like capacity building training for young achievers and entrepreneurs, linkage meeting between potential investors and young achievers, identify and promote youth lead initiatives successful in different parts of the country to lead an inclusive socioeconomic development in coming years.
Sajeeb Wazed Joy, ICT advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said, "We want to work for the development of future Bangladesh. Young people are the main driving force to ensure desired progress of the country."
"The government has set a plan to groom up youths with modern education and ICT knowledge to ensure their contribution to economic progress in the country".
In the inauguration program, over 200 youth organizations from 64 districts across Bangladesh, joined as partner organizations, supporting the cause. The idea of Young Bangla is to connect all the dots of past, present and future by developing an evolving network between the experienced and the youth society to achieve a singular mission to transform Bangladesh as the role model to the world, says the press release.
Prime Minister’s ICT advisor said the government has recruited thousands of youths in different income-generating programmes for creating their employment facilities. "We are implementing different programmes to make young people self-reliant," he added.
He said the country has witnessed a remarkable progress in different sector including power, communication, heath and education in the past five years as the present government has implemented a number of time-befitting programmes.
The launching program of Young Bangla took place at Grand Ballroom in the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel, Dhaka. Among others, State Minister for Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Razee Fakhrul Islam MP, Mahjabeen Khaled MP, Keya Chowdhury MP, and the leaders of convening organizations and officials of different ministries were present at the event.
