BNP-Jamaat's Activities are not Politics, but a Sheer Terrorist Act of Highest Order: PM

Pointing out the last night's incident of killing four people including children in a patrol-bomb attack on a public bus at Mithapukur in Rangpur, she said, BNP and Jamaat are burning people alive and targeted schoolchildren and teachers.

"Their activities are not politics, but a sheer terrorist act of highest order," Sheikh Hasina said adding, "I have no language of condemning the killing of innocent people."

"Rather I will call upon BNP leader to refrain from such activities. Otherwise the government will have to take more stern action to protect the lives and property of the people," she said while inaugurating National Primary Education Week-2015 at a function at Osmani Memorial Auditorium here today.

Sheikh Hasina called upon people to come forward to save the future generation from the grip of terrorists and militants saying that the terrorists activities of BNP and Jamaat at the beginning of the year was to destroy the academic life of students.

"We have given textbooks to all students on the first day of the academic year to help them learning round the year. But BNP and Jamaat are out to bring frustration among students by unleashing hartal and siege programme from very beginning of the academic year," she said.

"BNP and Jamaat even enforced hartal on the day of Eid-e-Miladunnabi and called siege programme on the day of Bishwa Ijtema. Sarcastically they do politics in the name of religion," the Prime Minister said calling upon people to wake up against such brutality.

Minister for Primary and Mass Education Advocate Mostafizur Rahman, MP was in the chair while secretary of the ministry Akhter Hossain and Director General of the Department of Primary and Mass Education Mohammad Alamgir spoke among others.

On the occasion the Prime Minister distributed awards among the winners of inter-school completions on sports, cultural and other extracurricular activities.

She also distributed awards among the best schools, government officials, elected representatives, instructors, teachers, employees of the Department of Primary Education for their outstanding contribution to development of primary education in 2014.
