Published on January 18, 2015Pointing out the recent fake statement issued by BNP in the name of several US Congressmen, she said BNP intends to usurp to power or overthrow the present government with the help of foreign force and in view of this they are even trying to deceiving the people.
"After becoming expert in spreading falsehood in the county their deception transcended beyond the border, eroding the country's image," she said adding, "BNP as a party has done this misdemeanor, but it earned shame for the whole nation."
Prime minister said this while addressing the officials of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs during a visit to the ministry.
She said Bangladesh is a victorious nation which earned honour through earning freedom defeating Pakistani force. Now Bangladesh became a role model of development before the world. But, BNP cannot tolerate Bangladesh's progress and attempted to thwart out those achievements.
Sheikh Hasina came to the ministry as part of her plan to visit every ministry to know about the problems, implementation of the development works and give guidelines to bring dynamism in the activities of the ministry.
The Prime Minister reiterated that government didn't confine BNP chairperson. Rather provided her with sufficient security as she called for. Begum Zia wished to stay in the office and everyday her party leaders are communicating with her and getting different directives and guidelines of the movement.
"If she is under government siege, how foods are being supplied there and how Begum Zia is carrying out her political activities and her party leaders are meeting her every day," she asked saying Khaleda Zia determined to destroy the country in the name of movement.
Minister for Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haq and acting secretary of the ministry MA Hannan also spoke on the occasion while senior officials of the ministry and Prime Minister Office (PMO) were present.
Sheikh Hasina said BNP leader feels pain as Bangladesh remains ahead of Pakistan in all social index and trial of the war criminals who are responsible for committing crime against humanity during war of liberation in 1971 is going on in full swing.
The Prime Minister said the spirit of the war of liberation should be instilled in the mind of future generation, and the ministry of liberation war affairs has immense responsibility to this end. "The ministry must take steps to let the future generation know about the nation's glorious history and preserve mass-graveyards, evidences, documents and places connected with the war," she said.
