In the series of Development stories, today we are presenting the fifth issue…


Armed forces
• To modernize the armed forces, 44 fourth generation tank (MBT-2000), three recovery vehicles, 129 wireless sets (VRC-2000L) for T-59 tank have been bought. It has provided a chance to form a new regiment.
• For the aviation group of Army, two 2-engine helicopter and Fixed-wing airplane have been bought.
• Four corvettes including ‘Bijoy’ and ‘Dholeshwri’ have been added to the Navy armory. A survey ship, ‘Onusondhan’ has been bought.
• Jet and ship destroyer Missiles have been added to the armory.
• Short Range Air Defense (ShoRAD) has been installed to modernize Air Force.
• 48 missiles for Mig-29 and 80 missiles for F-7 fighter jets have been added to the armory.
• 33,535 soldiers and officers have been sent to various Peace Keeping Operations.
• Hatir Jheel area, including Begun Bari canal, has been developed and beautified with the association of Armed forces, beautification of the capital.
• Mirpur-Airport road flyover and an overpass at Banani Railway crossing have been constructed with the help of Armed forces.


Home Affairs (Police and other civil forces)
• 62 ‘Thana’s have been upgraded to ‘Model Thana’
• Posts of Sub-Inspector (SI) and Town Sub-Inspector (TSI) posts been upgraded to 2nd class grade. Post of Officer-in-Charge (OC) has been upgraded to 1st class grade.
• 6773 police members and officials have been sent to UN’s Peace Keeping operations
• 2235 new posts have been created at Ansar and VDP department.
• Construction of Kashimpur and Keraniganj central jail, 15 district jail
• 19 Zonal Passport offices have been constructed. Machine Readable Passport and Visa have been introduced.
• Activation of 255 fire stations.

Land Management
• Implementation of Vested Property Release Rules 2012
• Land records and survey systems have been digitalized
• 55 thousand acres of demesnes have been distributed among 120000 landless families.
• Under ‘Gucchagram’ project, 7172 landless families have been rehabilitated in 163 ‘Gucchagram’s. 128 ‘Twin Houses’ have been constructed by Settling project.
